hi, i am kinda new to modaco, but looking though it all and trying to find the answers for getting your music playing though your bluetooth headset, i have after about 17 hours of reading and searching google, found the answer

the answer was detailsd on expansys

to make it easy il just copy it

0. i used a Jam with the typical downloadable version 1.12 code, although this stack will probably work on any Win2003se Jam. please dont ask me what my settings are - just back up your device, then try it for yourself. it should work on any flavor of Jam, any operating system and radio version.

1. use xbackup to save your data to flash card. the software I am about to point you to is buggy, so you dont want to loose your working settings because YOU WILL WANT TO REVERT back to your old machine after trying this. stop now if you dont want to bother to do this because this software will mess up important parts of your machine!

2. download the (buggy) Bluetooth stack upgrade from http://www.ppc-welt.info/community/attachm...achmentid=14076. This was apparently made by a company that specializes in writing Bluetooth software for OEMs : http://www.csr.com/development/bchs.htm

3. remove the underscore from the end of the file name (so that it will have an extension of .cab), upload to your Jam, and execute the .cab file using file explorer. no need to reboot.

4. click on the little bluetooth icon in the lower right corner, and be amazed at the increase in number of tabs from 3 to 8. the last tab is audio - this is what causes media player audio to be routed to your bluetooth headset. i did not try any of the other features (bluetooth printing, file exchange, etc).

5. explore. here are some things I learned...

- this only works with STEREO bluetooth headsets, not the kind most of us have. I ran out and bought a IoGear GBMH201 stereo headset ($99), linked it to my Jam in the usual way, and - just like magic - it appeared in the dropdown list on the Audio bluetooth tab.

- it only works with Microsoft's media player, not with MortPlayer or any others.

- i tested both Headset and HandsFree profiles with the IoGear headset. here is the bottom line - only HandsFree lets you listen and talk to your phone, but only Headset lets you run MediaPlayer continually. oh well, nobody said this was production ready code. also, the start/pause, forward, and back buttons dont work in any mode. cooool....?

- eventually, you will loose the ability to hear sound from your Jam's speaker. that is when you want to recover your system from your backup flash card.

So, why bother to tell you how to get software you dont want to keep? Simple - it shows that IT CAN BE DONE. The only thing lacking is the will to do it. Perhaps someone from the silver spoon club will pay CSR to make a working version for us Jam lovers ;-)

if you want to know more just click the bottun above to go to expansys, and then the link near the bottum of the page

as for the link above some people have experenced some problem with this, but have been solved, and the other problem you have to have a stearo headset (A2DP supported headsets)

also the file ststed to download i have added to this aswell so no need to copy the link

i hope this helps alot of people out there, i know what im gonna do next time i get paid and thats buying a stearo bluetooth headset

if anyone finds this helpful, let me know, i hope my research on this helps alot of people out ther
