Blespoon AX2 compatibility w SMT 5600

I would like to know if anyone has been able to use the new Bluespoon AX2 with the Audiovox SMT 5600.

I purchased one from Radio Shack and it is only providing about 2 feet of range whithout static. more than 2 feet and the static noise gets horrible.

I tried exchanging it for another AX2 but it also has the same problem. Also on both sets the button is loose.

Are the Radioshack sets deffective or is the phone incompatible?
