Guest C++ Developer Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 I can't find a simple way to close applications on my new C550 smartphone. I am new to these devices, is it customary to simply leave apps running once they are started? Surely it isn't necessary to go through TaskManager to close apps, is it?
Guest davejerome Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 Surely Internet Explorer should not have 85% share of browsers as its the worst.... ...but it does! To the best of my knowledge that is how you are suppost to do it!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 The Smartphone format is designed so that applications should sit in the background and not use cpu time etc. The reason for this is that next time you want to use them they should start up quicker than a cold start.

It seems odd that those apps don't have a CLOSE option, no?

Get busy processes back to top is surely tricky (if they still live) ...
Guest SilentlyScreaming Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 I understand the philosophy behind dumping code out of meme only when needed, but if you do still want to try and speed up the ending of tasks, I personally set task manager to quick dial on 8, then most times I just need to press Home to return to home screen, then hold 8 and I'm in task manager, from there either 7 to kill an individual app or 2 to kill all.
