just got my qtek 8310 and the backlight never seems to go out.

it goes to the half-dimmed stage but never goes off.

is there a setting i've missed? or is it a dud i should send back?

I'm having the same problem on my SPV C600....just got it a couple of hours ago and it was fine for a while but now the backlight wont ever go off.....although its set to 15 seconds.

Ive tried rebooting it with no success.

Any ideas?

do you have "display time out" set to never? that's what was causing mine to stay half-dimmed

Yes i do have display time out set to never but that shouldnt affect the backlight timeout....i always had display time out set to never on my SPV C500! Think it's a bug on the C600.

I'm already starting to miss my C500!!

It could be done by design as the new screen res must be a power-killer

If I had a c600 I'd be too busy looking at it and going "Where's the Wifi?" to be worrying about anything else! Leave Orange, return the phone and get an i-mate sp5 or a Qtek 8310
