Guest xGrape Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 One thing I still haven't been able to get running on my Qtek 8310 is WLAN. The router is from 3Com. These are the settings currently used: I have tried setting all sorts of different options on the phone (or so I think), but whenever I hit "connect", nothing happens. At all. No asking for password or anything. I have tried turning WIFI off, deleting the network, and turning it back on. Didn't help. Any ideas?
Guest FreakyMonkey Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 Try changing your passphrase to something alphabetic - it works fine on my network with an imate SP5
Guest merwin Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 Try changing your passphrase to something alphabetic - it works fine on my network with an imate SP5 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Make sure you're using the right type of WPA settings. In the Network Key settings on WM5, there is an Authentication Type (options include WPA and WPA-PSK among others). Also there is Data Encryption (WEP, TKIP, Disabled). Mine uses WPA-PSK and TKIP encryption. Try using various methods.
Guest sponge Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 (edited) Sorry it's such an old thread, but it was the first relevant one I found using the search button. At the moment my Home Wireless Network is configured to use WPA2-PSK and AES encryption. However, it looks like the v1240 isn't compatible. Does anyone more knowledgeable than I know for sure? Will I need to 'downgrade' my Wireless Network to WPA-PSK to enable the use of TKIP (which afaik my phone can handle)? Please disregard. I have found some more threads. Here. Here. Guest smcb Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 I've got a US T-Mobile SDA with WiFi. No matter what settings I have tried on my home wireless network (open, WEP, WPA), I have never gotten my SDA to connect to it. On the other hand, it seems to connect to every other wifi network I have been in range of. I'm not sure why, but they just dont like to connect to certain wireless access points. I'm considering borrowing a different router for home to test this out. Sorry it's such an old thread, but it was the first relevant one I found using the search button.
