Guest chickyd Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 Just turned on my Qtek 9100 and it's crashing at the boot screen. It boots as the light starts to flash after a few seconds but the today screen does not come up. Anyone shed any light on how to resolve?
Guest Pondrew Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 Try doing a hard reset but be aware that the device will be restored to it's out of the box state. I believe to hard reset the HTC Wizard (which is what your Qtek 9100 is) you have to press and hold the two softkeys while using the stylus to press the reset button (hole between camera button and infra red port). Moved to Pocket PC Help & Advice as it isn't a Smartphone

Anyway i tried this with both of them and still no joy. Please help!!
Guest Pondrew Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 Sorry, my bad, the following SHOULD work for hard resetting your device... For the record, a hard reset takes holding the buttons down for MUCH longer than you might think. I'd change the manual to read: Hold the Comm Mgr and Voice Command Buttons whilst depressing the soft reset and keep holding them buggers in for about 10 seconds. Release the soft reset (with stylus) then release the other two.... Thanks, all. Nick. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Guest chickyd Posted December 1, 2005 Report Posted December 1, 2005 Sorry, my bad, the following SHOULD work for hard resetting your device... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> .... arghhhhhh!!! This is resetting it but still not getting past the Qtek boot screen. It's only a week old and i'm seriously considering shipping it back if i can expect these kind of problems with it. I know people are trying to call too! Any more advice?

I followed up on the thread you placed there and it says quite rightly that to get a hard reset you need to wait for a prompt to hit the send key. Press 2 soft keys for 5 secs, hit reset, holding soft keys for further 5 secs - prompt, hit send, done! Gutted I've lost all my settings and data. If this happens every week I'll be raging!
