Guest marksurry Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 I have an SPV M500 and use the alarm to wake me up in the mornings. I'm having trouble with the vibrator though. When the alarm goes off it vibrates then sounds the alarm. I would like to turn the vibrate feature off for the alarm only, leaving it active for calls. Trouble is, I can't find where to do this. Under Sounds and Notifications there is no alarm event, only reminders. However, reminders is set NOT to vibrate. Can any one point me in the right direction to rectify this?
Guest Disco Stu Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 Ah. This has been bugging me too. Thanks for the reminder :D Go into Settings, System tab, Clock & Alarms and press and hold the bell icon on the right of the screen. Untick the Vibrate box. If this doesn't work I'll see you here again tomorrow ;) :)
Guest marksurry Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 Disco Stu, you're a life saver. Tomorrow morning I will awake to the sound of the alarm rather than the M500 vibrating across the table. Thanks for your help :)
Guest fraser Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 I don't trust the in-built alarm whatsoever. I missed a flight because of it once, because the phone was on silent. I now use "Stoptime" for this sort of thing. It has a stopwatch, countdown timer, little throw-away reminders (e.g. "turn over food in oven") and a really good alarmclock. You can set as many alarms as you want, and for each you can choose which days of the week to be active. You get to choose a different sound for each if you want (I have a "very important meeting" one), as well as pre-set the volume for that alarm (regardless of the phone volume). Unfortunately, it also has the dangerous "snooze" function, though you can switch that off for the really important alarms. Highly recommended. I downloaded it for the stopwatch, but I use the alarm every day.
