Guest ddieter Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 Hmmm...what to do. If both phones where on the market now, I'd definitely rather have the HTC Prophet. I don't want to fall into the trap of sitting on my current phone and waiting another 6 months for the Prophet to be released. If I were to order the SP5 now on a 12-month O2 contract....what are my options if the HTC Prophet gets released in Apr 06?
Guest kam_ Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 Not much really.. you would have to sell your phone and buy the HTC Prophet, or buy it outright. Firstly O2 won't give you any upgrade untill 12 months is over.. even if they do at a higher cost, most likely the HTC Prophet won't be on their network at that time anyway. There is no magic solution, if u buy it on O2 now you're locked into contract, thats it.

Guest Dr Who Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Prophet doesn't sound that impressive? http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/review/htc-prophet-en.shtml
Guest kam_ Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 The only thing to differentiate it is the 2mp camera and full size sdcard. Apart from that the processor is about the same speed, and all other features are the same. You should consider if you want a PPC platform or a smartphone one. Each have their benefits. Personally i went for smartphone because of size. Although this phone is still small, the fragile touchscreen means you need a hefty case for it, which makes using it less convenient, the size bulky and harder to show off its a nice phone hehe On the other hand there is ALOT more software that works fullscreen on windows mobile 5 than windows mobile 5 for smartphone. Bottom line, forget most of the specs, do you want a PPC or a Smartphone?
Guest Helix Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 Just bear in mind also that If you gonna be using the WiFi to surf the web, surely the PPC screen factor will be more of an important one to consider. Surfing on an smartphone is cool but having to scroll everywhere is not.
