SPV C550 incar charging problems

i cannot seem to charge my spv c550 via an in dedicated in-car charger (ora) or via a cigarette lighter to USB adaptor and the USB cable. Any ideas why not its driving me mad as i use TomTom mobile and the battery gets really drained on those long journeys meaning when i get anywhere ive only about 30mins talktime left!!!!!

I'm afraid I also have problems with in car charging. Upon plugging my c550 in, my device goes into flight mode and turns itself off :) Unless there is a solution the only thing i would suggest is a spare battery

mine doesnt do that, as soon as i plug it in the screen lights up but the yellow light just keeps flashing,should go solid whilst charging...
