Guest Tech Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 (edited) Hi there. Just got my SP5m :D Wondering if there is a way for the wifi to use WEP? There currently appears no option to! I need WEP if possible as that is the way I configured my wireless and wish to keep it that way :) [edit]Nevermind, was being daft and its an option in the "data encryption", I as looking at "Authentication"[/edit] Edited December 3, 2005 by Tech
Guest Tech Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 other problem: CANNOT seem to connect to my wireless :) why? Nothing happens, it finds it. I created a new connection with the network key and correct authentication type but it puts a cross next to the wireless network. ??
Guest roma0803 Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Happen to use MAC Address filtering?
Guest Tech Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 nope it seems to work ok now. I had to disable MAC Address filtering and disable the SSID THEN I had to enable the wifi on the device wait for it to AUTOMATICALLY detect the wireless networks. Once done, it picked up my wireless and then I entered the WEP key. Then I changed the key index. Then it all worked fine I then disabled the SSID and enabled MAC Address filtering - works fine :) IF you do it manually - it doesnt work apperently so let the OS do it :D
