Guest jiffk Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 How do you go about getting a ROM and what software do you use to back up and update roms? Which rom is the best for the wizard (i suspect the i-mate) if you update the rom does it format the device? Shame the t-mobile rom has so much rubbish becuase i quite like the quick shortcuts for messages, contacts and organiser etc
Guest Phil Lee Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Not sure what you mean by rubbish in the ROM. I've not found anything that isn't useful other than the Today screen.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 Unfortunately to legitimately get hold of another manufacturers ROM you have to own their device. As per forum rules other manufacturers ROM's cannot be shared here due to the legality trickiness! There are also checks built into the update software to cancel the update if it detects the manufacturer as something other than that of the software you are trying to install (although this is easily overcome with a quick search of the forum). Also - it seems from what i've read the imate ROM is the best implemented version...
Guest jiffk Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 i thought it was a bit dodgey, i just dont like all the t-mobile icons and colour schemes plus it would be nice to get wireless g working
Guest Pigo Posted December 6, 2005 Report Posted December 6, 2005 I've heard the same thing about the Imate ROM. I'm stuck with the unstable T-mobile ROM (heard I'm not the only one complaining about the way T-mobile did it) Sorry for being away for so long... no time and no computer for more than a month kinda slow you down... Pigo...
Guest Emad Posted December 6, 2005 Report Posted December 6, 2005 Um. It's on the i-mate website. Unlocker is at developers xda.
