Guest Magnetic_dud Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 Ok don't mind. I just bought a Palm device with japanese support
Guest Sogarth Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 That's kind of funny, because I just saw this thread.... It's not very hard to get support for reading Japanese (or any CJK language, for that matter). I did it on my Motorola MPx220 when I had it, my Audiovox SMT5600/HTC Typhoon (which is now being decommissioned), and my Sprint PPC-6700/HTC Apache that I have now. Write support is significantly more complicated, and although I've found a solution that's supposed to work for WM2003 and WM5, it requires a VGA screen (which I don't have). Writing is usually less necessary, though.... But, it looks like you don't need it any longer, so I'll stop rambling. ;)
Guest Magnetic_dud Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 I needed since i want to use the pda as a dictionary. So, i have to write. Buying a japanese version is the best thing in this way. On ebay seems that there isn't jp ppc but only cheap&old jp palm pilot ;) (don't want to pay a lot for a such thing)

For writing, you need a VGA device, then you can look at this link here. There's apparently an IME for WM2003, and a few folks have managed to get it to work on WM5. I have QVGA, so I haven't tried it out yet (I think it would probably blow up).
