Skype Doesn't Work with Windows 5

I installed Skype Pocket PC on my MDA Vario, but it caused various problems, so I uninstalled it.

However, every 10 mins or so, it comes up with error Cannot start Skype.exe (or similar). I put a Reg Editor on the Vario but it cannot find any mention of 'skype'.

How do I stop it trying to load Skype even though I unistalled Skype ?

I used to get this too but it seems to have disappeared after installing the beta version (which is said to work better with the Wizard and Win mobile 5).

Can't comment on how well it works once installed as I don't know anyone on Skype! I have tried a few random dials though and the receiving side of it seems to work ;-)

Still same problem. How can a call to skype.exe be triggered every 10 minutes, when I can't even find it mentioned in the registry ? The command must be somewhere ! Can't find a Startup directory or anywhere this call could be coming from. Please think about this one of you techies...

I've installed the beta version of skype on my Vario too, and making calls works ok. Not brilliant, but I wasn't expecting too much.

However, if I try to chat to people, i can't view anything I have typed or the other person has typed. In other words no text ever seems to appear in the chat window, yet people I have talked to say they can see what I'm typing.

Has anyone else experienced this???

This is a known issue in the current version of Pocket Skype. You can only see the first message in chat. I've tested this by calling my work Skype account from my personal Skype account.

I started to read the thread on the skype forum, but there were so many people with some very different problems, I got kinda bored! :oops:

Do you think ebay taking over skype will effect their development in any way?? Skype have been releasing so many bug fix updates for a while now, wonder if the input of ebay will kick them in the private area??
