Guest joeyjoejoe206 Posted December 7, 2005 Report Posted December 7, 2005 (edited) hi all, i posted ages ago about having a C500 that took pink pictures, it was a loose connection that could be rectified by pushing onto the camera. That solution has now stopped working, so as im still in warrenty i thought it might be worth getting it fixed properly. How do i go about this, and how long is it expected to take does anybody know? also, i genuinly havent tampered with the phone, but i managed to catch the corner of the validity sticker, causing a slight what could be described as hairline fracture of the sticker, in the lower left corner, i would say even if i had pulled off the bit that has cracked, there is no way i could remove the screw from underneath the rest of the sticker, but will this invalidate my warrenty, and if so do they just send the phone back? many thanks just looked on the htceurope site and they say if they deem the phone to have been voided they charge a processing fee even if they dont repair the phone, but i cannot find out how much this is. Guest csd1uk Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 I have just had my phone replaced... it was a different problem, but i just called orange from my phone and told them, blah blah blah and all this stuff and they sent me out a brand new replacement spvc500 the next day. my phone was even out of warranty and it didnt cost me anything, so it might be worth giving it a go.

From my limited grasp of consumer law / experience, after 6 months orange are within their rights to direct you to HTC for the repair. If you have orangecare or spend a lot per month it may be a different matter. Let us know what they say. Are you on contract or PAYG? Richard

Richard <{POST_SNAPBACK}> im on payg. i called orange and they were able to test my phone from there call centre, which i found incredible, and they said that the test concluded the phones camera was faulty. then then gave me a number, which turned out to be the htc number. i thought about going on the web to bok my phone in with htc, but have decided to call them on monday because im not sure if the fact that orange have confirmed my phone as faulty will change anything, perhaps it means they dont need to test it or something. il let you know how it goes.

Tell them the right answer and it's faulty. No remote testing AFAIK, it's a phone not a McLaren F1... HTC don't answer the phone, it's an answerphone and someone less than helpful calls you back. The orange diagnosis means nowt, I'd just book it in via the web, don't mention the warranty sticker and see what happens. Richard
