ROM Updates

Greetings

I'd like to hear about peoples experience of ROM updates. Good or Bad, ROM's specifically for your phone and ROM's for the same model but different brands.

I have a QTEK 8020 and have found an update on qtek.nu for my phone although the site apparently states it is for Swedish sold units only. I got mine from Vodafone in the UK.

I asked Voda about an official ROM from them and they rather weakly palmed me off. Shower of expletives!

I have all the settings for GPRS, MMS etc as Voda very kindly e-mailed me them.

My main concern is that maybe I'll screw my phone up completely and the big V won't replace it cos of my meddling.

I was nearly brave enoughm to just do it earlier but then the drink wore off and sense prevailed.

Anyone who has QTEK 8020 ROM stories I'd be particularly interested to hear from.

With any update there is always a risk but technically you should be able to update without too much of a problem as you are not using a ROM from another device but rather from another operator.

Remember with any non authorised update you will be invalidating your warranty.
