Guest speedyc Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 Dose anyone have a clue how I can put a P.A.U.G sim in my spv C-500 and change the number that will apear on the phone of the person I am calling. I/E. a sim with some number, but the caller id on the other party's phone will show a diferent number...???
Guest shadamehr Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 Er, run that by us again... So you mean, so that the Incoming Call Number on the other person's phone is NOT the real number of the person that is actually calling them??? Er, yeah right... like that would work *lol* (sorry for my flippancy). But if you could do what you asked, can you IMAGINE the consequences... the very fabric of our society would collapse and implode under the sheer weight of the problems this would lead to (alright, I'm grossly exagerating). But can you imagine the results though mate, come on... A call coming up on my phone that says my brother is calling, and instead its actually my mates winding me up? How would this work legally - trying to tell the police I DIDN'T ring someone up and make a malicious call to them, even though MY number is the one that shows up on the other person's phone... Doh. You CAN'T change the number that appears mate - as it is not the phone that sets it, it is the network. You can elect NOT to send your number at all... but CHANGE the number that appears...? It would cause unholy chaos mate. By the way, that wasn't ME that was ringing you just before mate to call you a fool for even thinking this - it was someone else, who had changed thier phone so it came up as my number when they rang you... ;-)
Guest speedyc Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 Great answer... I know it makes no sence, but I have just moved over from orange uk to O2, they are less than half the price, but they gave me a XDA mini with my Orange number, problem is, that INSIDE the house there is not the best reception for O2, so i was thinking of having an Orange PAYG phone, but have people see my O2 number.... THANKS anyway, i was just after a reasuringness that what i was after was complete boloks!!! Cheers.
Guest shadamehr Posted December 11, 2005 Report Posted December 11, 2005 No its not complete boloks mate. But is IS complete bolLocks with two l's in it. ;-) On a more helpful note though, would having it so that the number never came up AT ALL with the other sim in, not help you? Or would your mates not answer the call? All I ask for is because this bit IS possible though mate, as a fairly limited way of using two different sim's but not confusing mates with two numbers - limited as I say, but the only option you have open to you...
