Guest davidjp Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 (edited) I got an XDA Mini S on O2 last week, and I'm finding the battery life to be very poor. As an example, I'm having to charge the phone every night. I unplug the phone at about 7am on 100% charge. It's now 11:20 and the battery level is at 61%. Stand-by time is supposed by pretty good. I've got WiFi, Bluetooth and IRDA all turned off and the back-light goes out after 30 seconds. I'm a bit stumped now. Does anybody have any other ideas, or shall I go back to O2? Also, how do you get rid of all the O2 software gubbins. I'll never use it, and it supposed to make the phone slow anyway? Edited December 8, 2005 by davidjp
Guest Emad Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 It's probably due to the O2 software (hard reset, choose corporate settings when given the option) and maybe other factors like error reporting (check its disabled in the settings menu). The battery life should be much, much better. I took mine off the charger at 7am and have had it standing by until now. Currently reported battery life is 100%.. Usually withstands a couple of days of intensive use before it needs a recharge.
Guest RichardD Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 I have mine on o2 basic setup, getting 2-3 days out of a charge, usually turn the phone off at night - "flight mode". Backlight off after 30 seconds, and auto off after 3 mins.
Guest davidjp Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 I'll do the hard reset tonight. As for the stand-by that some of you seem to use. Is that when it asks to turn the phone off after x amount of minutes? Would you recommend using it? How quick does it boot up from stand-by?
