Guest timmillwood Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 I got my vario today, there is so much to it, it will take me ages to get working 100% a few questions to the people who have varios. 1) how do i set the DNS ip numbers for my Wi-Fi? 2) When i scroll on the screen with the pen it feels so rough, is this normal? 3) the Vario came with a screen protector, when i put it on the screen looked awful, any ideas? Thanks TIM

Thanks TIM <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 1) DNS is done in settings > Connections > network cards >Network Adapters > SDIO Wlan 2) not sure what you mean there, the Screen feels Rough or the text/scroll bars are jumpy when scrolling? 3) i have the Screen Protector that came with it on (its not that good tbh, i still cant get all the airbubbles out lol :D but at least it stops scratchs) but that wil be comming off soon as JAVOEdge Get one done for the Wizard which wont be too long I hope :)
Guest cthulhu Posted December 15, 2005 Report Posted December 15, 2005 I used the TMobile supplied protector, first day it looked really awful and I wanted to rip it straight off, but I used a credit card to gradually push any bubbles to the side. Now a couple of days later there's no sign of a bubble, and the initial mottled effect has gone completely. Although the fact that the protector is a couple of mm narrower than the screen now bugs me. Cant imagine how you would get it off again once it's on. Even more so if it fitted more snuggly. Anybody done it?? C 8)

Not using a protector at all now and nearly a month in no scratches. I suppose it depends where you keep it !
Guest fraser Posted December 15, 2005 Report Posted December 15, 2005 Your router should give you DNS via DHCP along with your IP address you shouldn't need to hard code it. Yah, if you need to do this, it's a sign somethings wrong. It's like push-starting a car; sure, it will get you going, but it's the wrong way to do it. Not using a protector at all now and nearly a month in no scratches. I suppose it depends where you keep it ! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You are brave! Have you seen the replacement costs? I had a scratch on my SPV and it pissed me off no end, so now I always use a protector. WRT the grandparent poster, use a sharp object to lift up one corner (carefully!), then just peel it off. I'd order some replacements first...the one I have is barely noticable.
