SPV C500 tomtom ''no maps found''

Hi, i have Tomtom mobile 5 installed on my phone and have got it running ok. It is installed on storage card. I can start tomtom and make settings like voice, language but then it says ''NO MAPS FOUND''. Does anyone know how to resolve this? I definantly Have GB map folder on storage card with all the other files.

Is the original card working ok? as all you need to do is copy the files over exactly as you see them.

You have to create a file named CurrentMap.dat with wordpad for exemple and juste write this in the file:

" \Storage Card\GB-Map\

after copy CurrentMap.dat in

\Storage\My Documents\TomTom

(if you want to change the map, juste GB-Map to France-Map or other in the CurrentMap.dat)

If i have 2 maps, GB and France, how do i get them both to work?

you can have more than two maps on the phone at the same time.

When you install the new map it will work once you register it.

As I saifd in the first post does the original card work ok?

Sorry for being thick - do you include the " and a space at the begining?. I have tried various combinations. Also putting the file in various sub folders. I still get 'No Maps Found'.

Do I need special maps for my spv c500? or will my PDA one work?
