Guest andrewkeith5 Posted December 26, 2005 Report Posted December 26, 2005 DO THE 2.6 UPGRADE! homebrew is a waste of time - id much rather have a web browser, full game functionality, and podcasts (with text based rss to come hopefully)! oh, and wma support, locationfree tv, and a plethora of other cool things (one being guaranteed compatibility with future accessories) and whats the 2.5 upgrade is it worth doing , bit new to this psp thing as the wife got me one for xmas ;) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Guest Kulda Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 hi and is it possible to play downloaded games from internet on fw 2.60??? thx
Guest MrWhippy Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Unfortunatly not m8. if it's running a higher version than 1.50, you can downgrade you're PSP to a 1.50 but unfortunatly you cannot downgrade if your version is higher than a 2.0, so if you have a 2.01 or above you're pretty much screwed...for now anyway. If you bought your PSP purely for playing Homebrew and video then i suggest you try and buy a PSP with FW version 1.50 or bellow as you will have complete functionallity of Homebrew Apps. Some people preffer the latest PSP versions like version 2.50 and 2.60 but ill write an argument FOR the version 1.50 on the 1.50 you can run all Homebrew applications, like Sega emulators, Gameboy emulators and believe it or not a Windows 98 Emulator has been released which is fully functional on a 1.50 PSP. also on the 1.50 you can download media players and managers that run WMA's, AVI's, MPG's, DivX's, WMV's etc... Also you CAN have the internet on a 1.50, by downloading a Homebrew internet Browser. So as you can see, with a few minor adjustments you can make your 1.50 do excactly what a 2.60 can do, only you CAN run homebrew ;) EDIT by Pondrew: Please see forum rules
Guest neo89 Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 well people on some websites have actually cracked Firmware 2.01, 2.50 and almost completed work on 2.60, so lucky we can all almost downgrade, if you want to that is! 8)
Guest DimmySimmy Posted February 4, 2006 Report Posted February 4, 2006 hey neo, what is that site cos i wanna downgrade my 2.01 to 1.50. can u post it plz
Guest neo89 Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 There are many differnet websites for downgrading you PSP form 2.01,2.50, 2.60, etc to 2.00, then down to 1.50. My Fav sites for doing this are: www.psphacks.net www.psp-hacks.com these sites should tell u how to downgarde, i myself, has not done it , because mines 2.60, and i do not want mess my psp up yet, There are ways to do this, just be careful that u don't brick your psp, then you've messed it up big time, and you'll need to buy a new psp!
