Guest joeyjoejoe206 Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 (edited) i have used activesync for along time to back up my c500. i recently had cause to clear all the data of the phone, and when i plugged it back into the pc, it was recognised as a new phone. so tell me, whats the point of having a backup feature if you cant restore your phone when its been wiped, how can i set my phone/computer to recognise my phone under my old setting, that is as user 'J' not 'spv_c500'? i have tried before and found the restore facility to remain greyed out when the phone was docked. thanks Edited December 13, 2005 by joeyjoejoe206
Guest Tech Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 (edited) when you "clear" or hard/soft reset a phone - all the details including activesync partnership is lost.... that is why it is recognising it as a new phone/device so you cannot "backup" your partnership, not that I am aware of.... You an back up data but not partnerships. You need to disconect your phone and the delete the partnership in AS on the PC and then reconnect, create a new partnership under the old name (if you catch my drift :) ) and bob's your uncle. then restore the data you want!
