Guest beansy Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 Firstly I'd like to say hi, i'm new to this forum, and thanks, for all the help and advice I've already read up in your other threads. I bought a new MPX200 a week ago, and boy it's been nothing but a nightmare. I charged the battery up as told to for the full amount, but from day one it crashes constantly, either the screen it's on just won't go away or it turns itself off. If the screen freezes I can't do anything other than remove the battery and try to start all over again. It will play ringtones when ever it feels like it, and keeps telling me my sms sim is full (it's actually empty) The battery life is around half hour tops, if you can get it to stay on that long. If you can get to the programmes, it will take forever to load one up (then freeze) From reading on here, I have just tried a hard reset, and now the phone is sat on my desk, slowly going from the Hello Moto screen to the Orange welcome screen...and back to the Hello Moto screen...etc...et.c.... :) It's also stuck on Airplane mode, if I try the blue home button thing, I select the airplane mode bit, and it just tells me it can't switch airplane mode on, would I like to try again.... :x So.... Do I throw it in the bin? I now can't get past the Orange welcome screen at all. it's a lovely looking phone, but i've never bought such a piece of carp in all my life! lol
Guest m1.carson Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 (edited) Hi, Perhaps the MoDaCo guys can give you a real answer, but it sounds as if the ROM is naff. Have you tried a hard reset with the charger plugged in, worth a try. Edited December 14, 2005 by m1.carson
Guest beansy Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 Hiya, It's just totally fried, keeps going from the Hello Moto screen to the Orange welcome screen, and thats it.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 It sounds more of a phone fault rather than a rom issue and trying different ROMs will invalidate your warranty and chances are it may not fix your problem. As the phone is new you should take it back for a replacement. And Welcome to the site :)
Guest beansy Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 When I say I bought it new, it was new, never used, but I bought it from a woman up the road, not from a store, so I don't have any warranty or anything. It may become my little hobby, see if I can get it working again, make a change from shouting at the back of my PC So, any further ideas....?
Guest XiSt3nCe Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 You could try and flash it with a different ROM, if you need furthur instructions on how to do this. I suggest you google around. If that dosen't work; Try a new battery. If not that. Congratulations! You have a nice new paperweight.
