Why doesn't WM5 support animated GIF's? The built in 'Pictures & Videos' app only displays the first frame...

Is there any kind of 3rd party Picture viewer that supports animated GIF's?

I had wondered this too, I have noticed the Windows flag in internet explorer is animated. I haven't found any 3rd party apps. that work. Does seem strange as one of the pre-installed pics is supposed to be animated :|

True but not for ppc.

Neither did 2003SE!

This isn't all that big a deal. Windows itself has the same problem. Try it: use the basic (free) picture viewer e.g. paint. No GIF animation. Most (basic) picture viewers don't do animation.

Pocket IE on WM2003 does show animated gifs AFAIK. Open them in that.

Well, I took a chance and bought Resco Photo View, and it's brilliant. So much better than the standard viewer (it seems faster as generating thumbnails too).
