Guest radiator Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 Why doesn't WM5 support animated GIF's? The built in 'Pictures & Videos' app only displays the first frame... Is there any kind of 3rd party Picture viewer that supports animated GIF's?
Guest Looby Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 I had wondered this too, I have noticed the Windows flag in internet explorer is animated. I haven't found any 3rd party apps. that work. Does seem strange as one of the pre-installed pics is supposed to be animated :|
Guest radiator Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 ...even the WM2003 picture viewer supported animated GIFs, so why doesn't WM5?
Guest nevawlkalone Posted December 15, 2005 Report Posted December 15, 2005 ...even the WM2003 picture viewer supported animated GIFs, so why doesn't WM5? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> True but not for ppc. Neither did 2003SE!
Guest fraser Posted December 15, 2005 Report Posted December 15, 2005 This isn't all that big a deal. Windows itself has the same problem. Try it: use the basic (free) picture viewer e.g. paint. No GIF animation. Most (basic) picture viewers don't do animation. Pocket IE on WM2003 does show animated gifs AFAIK. Open them in that.
Guest radiator Posted December 15, 2005 Report Posted December 15, 2005 Well, I took a chance and bought Resco Photo View, and it's brilliant. So much better than the standard viewer (it seems faster as generating thumbnails too).
