Hi,

Has the new release from Microsoft solved the problems with syncing a WM5 smartphone to corporate PC (with locked down firewall, anti-virus etc)?

I am itching to get an SP5 but I need to be sure I can sync properly.

Thanks,

Xerxes

Works for me, been using it for two weeks now. Works like charm. It's a bit slower on connecting but it syncs just fine with outlook. I had an issue with 4.1 on one PC but that went away when I used the 4.0 version I got with my C600. Butit could be the reinstallation.

The only thing is that I cannot get it to work with my HP based bluetooth laptop. no sync or whatsoever. Now I just use a cable, it charges when I sync now :) small price to pay for gettin' in sync.

I dunno about the SP5 but the syncing in general is OK. Any special features you need ?

Oh, and I am using a Corporate PC but I have elevated rights, so I can't advice you on that one. But it should be fine once it is installed. Any specifics that you came across in the past?

Activesync works great for me so far, had the phone a week. I did have problems initially as outlined in another post that resulted in me having to go to my office for the first synchronisations using outlook in online mode. Once that was done, it works a treat in offline mode.

I also have the same problem with Bluetooth though on my HP laptop. I get as far as a Bluetooth serial connection that drops after 30 secs, but whilst it is active, activesync tries to connect but then repors it found an error.

Not too fussed as it works well on the cable and these small retractable cables are perfect.
