Guys,

I used to have an Orange C550 which I loved to death and I've just bought an SP5! The one thing I haven't been able to get back or restore is the Photo Contacts program "IA Caller ID"! Is there a program that will assign a photo/ringtone to a contact or is there a version out there that I can stick on my new phone?

If you can help please reply!

WM5 is handling it self now and no third party software. You can add a caller ID and/or specific ringtone to a contact through the "Edit Contact" menu in Contacts.

Great advise, thanks!

I spent ages looking to see WM5 had but I never thought to check the contacts!

Thanks!

Glad I could help out here. You can also add pictures to your contacts with Outlook 2003 on your desktop. No need to keep the pictures on your phone seperately since they are added to the pim.vol so become part of Pocket Outlook at next sync.

Yeah, I noticed that after I'd played arround with lots of Caller ID progs it messed up my phone. I did a hard reset and resync'd the contact and it kept the pictures! Fantastic!

As I have HUNDREDS of contact pics it means my pim.vol file is getting VERY large.

Anyone know of any registry key hack to point it to the Storage Card instead???

Is that so? I believe it's not taking that much space. So far I've got 63 out of 254 people with a face and my pim.vol is about 4MB. Those pics are only a couple of kb each.

Mine is only 3MB Roma mate, but that's still the far and away largest file on my actual Phone Memory by a considerable amount.

It would be very nice to get this 3MB onto SD, and get more space back - especially in light of the "4MB Free for MMS" bug WM5.0 has.

Anyone know if you can do this, or there is a Registry Key for where the pim.vol file gets stored?

True. Still, got a about 8MB left to fill on my phone and pim.vol is probably the file that's gonna take most of it since I install all other programs on my card.

I haven't seen a tweak yet for storing it on the card, seen requests for it here and there. Might also be a security issue to consider. Loosing your phone is one, having it locked is good, no one can get to your personal stuff and one needs to do a hard reset to use the phone again. If pim.vol is on the card, it's left alone with the hard reset and for others left to read. Just a consideration.
