Guest stevem999 Posted December 15, 2005 Report Posted December 15, 2005 (edited) Hi there, my MPX220 has been running without a fault for many months but just in the last few days it seems to have gained an affliction - my reminder alarms are going off but when I go to check what the reminder is for my screens are all blank. This lasts for maybe 10 seconds and then the reminder appears(sometimes with slightly garbled text which then rights itself), often with the wrong 'menus' above the softkeys e.g. Start and Contacts, rather than Dismiss and Menu. These two options usually appear after a second or two. I haven't installed anything recently apart from Smart Explorer a couple of weeks ago but this problem wasn't happening then. Made no registry changes, phone is kept nicely charged and memory seems fine (RAM is showing 13.16MB used, 8.39MB free) and no other aspects of the phone/software seem to be at fault - does my phone need a lie down and a reset of some kind? Or is my MPX220 terminally ill? Any ideas or assistance would be much appreciated. Edited December 15, 2005 by stevem999
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 You could try and soft reset (power off/on) and see if that improves things other wise it may be time to have a proper clearout and do a hard reset.
Guest stevem999 Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 Thanks for the advice, I've tried a few soft resets but it isn't doing anything - how do I go about a hard reset and what do I 'lose' if I do it - I know I can back-up calendar etc through Activesync, but what about ringtones, photos, settings etc? Thanks
