C500 Changed Facia not it wont Vibrate!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I recently changed the facia, in fact the whole case, buttons, screen, the entire shell of the phone.

I thought it had gone quite well but now I find the phone does not vibrate.

I have gone through all the settings to enable the vibrate function.

I am thinking I must have dislodged a wire or something, does anyone know what I can look out for. I dont really want to dismantle it just on the off chance.

Thanks for any replies :)

Did you swop over the vibra motor in the bottom of the chassis? Check the old chassis and see if it's still in there. It's a small motor with an off-shape weight on the end.

I am sure I know exactly the part you mean.

I didnt realize that was the motor.

I did swap it, it was a bit of a chore as it was fairly well stuck down.

I thought I had got it okay, looks like it went wrong :D

At least I will have a chance to get rid of that hair which managed to sneak in the screen and has annoyed me ever since!!)

Thanks for the reply Richard. :):)

When you have it in bits, check the contacts are OK on the motor, that they were facing up to mate against the circuitboard, and connect it to a 1.5v battery to see if it spins OK.

Any problems and I do have spare ones available.
