Guest rannoch Posted December 15, 2005 Report Posted December 15, 2005 My 12 months contract with Orange (Your plan 120 £25 pm) finishes end-January. Just received a call from Vodafone offering me a "great" deal - new Motorola SLVR L7 phone (do vodafone have smartphones), 200 minutes pm + "stop the clock" + plus first month free then two months at £12.50pm then 15months at £15pm. Other things about texts and gprs, but too fast to take it all in. Can I expect the other providers (O2, T-Moble, etc) to call, or is this just agressive sales from Vodafone. What are the best tactics to get a better deal. I have an unlocked c500 can it be used if I contract to another provider. Regards, Rannoch
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 Sounds like the usual telesales type call, I keep getting idiots calling me to tempt me into having cheaper rates on the same network etc.
Guest rannoch Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 Just phoned Orange for a PAC code. I was advised that if I took it now there would be a charge because I will be still be within the 12 contract period when I transfer to a new provider. If I phone back on 30th Dec there will be no charge, but I will be charged rental up until the phoen number is transferred. I probably leave it until 3rd or 4th of January to get the PAC code. There was no questions about why are you leaving or attempt to keep me as a customer. Very disappointing, but there are better deals elsewhere. Rannoch
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted December 16, 2005 Report Posted December 16, 2005 I think Orange have given up trying to keep customers as I had the same. They asked why I was leaving and that was it. It takes about ten days for your number to be ported over so any free minutes you have etc use them up rather than lose them.
