Hard reset and installed applications

Can someone tell me whether a hard reset eliminates all applications that are on the phone, all registry changes, etc.?

Thank you. What about the anti-virus application that comes with the i-mate SP5 -- is that included in the ROM configuration or was that loaded afterwards?

It's loaded afterwards, but you can get it from the i-mate website
