Can other GPS soft be used next to TomTom?

Hi,

I'm trying to get GPSDash to work on my WM5 device. In the past I've read something about TomTom Mobile blocking the COM port so no other GPS soft can be used next to it without additional tools to free or share the COM port.

Since GPSDash doesn't seem to find the GPS receiver I was wondering if anyone can confirm this and if this is still the case with the BT stack in WM5 (i-mate)? Is there a workaround or do I need to look for an other cause?

Thanks in advance for any info on this since I'm kind of unexperienced in this particular field.
