Orange CS getting worse

I know, I know everyone complains about Orange CS but I have never had any problems with them.

But recently my partners C500 (which is also on my contract) started developing some odd behaviour, principally that on some phone calls people sounded like they were underwater (so I'm told) and frequent lockups, call history not working, answer phone notification constantly failing. Anyway, get the usual nonsense of have you tried hard resetting (Yes), you do it by......(I know how to reset my phone thank you).......I will have to refer this to technical support. SIX weeks later with the issue referred to technical support about 4 times they still REFUSED to replace the handset. WTF do I pay £5 a month for? The latest CS drone kept telling me a handset that locked up once a day was 'acceptable' and when I asked to speak to someone who would authorise a replacement she said only technical support could do this and I couldn't speak to them. So I had to speak to retentions to get a free upgrade to a Nokia N70 (it was free to me 3 weeks ago and then magically became £50 when I phoned back to sort one out for the missus) but they didn't even mention the C600. Its a bit annoying because I wanted to upgrade anyway but I like to time it with a handset failure so that I get a brand new replacement phone and then upgrade.

One would have thought if you advertise your amazing CS then you may actually try and provide a customer with a working phone, non?

I have a fantastic talk plan on orange though, which is too good to give up really.

Yeah,so did I,or at least i thought I did,no-one mentioned to me that half of my talk-plan were promotional add-ons and after my first year I was left with a relatively crap talk-plan with relatively crap choices of upgrading.

Would Orange give a loyal customer a better deal than a total new customer , NAH,sorry mate,we cant give you that deal, its only for NEW customers !! I can see why lots of us Smartphone users are now leaving in droves for o2 PAYT 100/100 or new o2 contracts,at least they guarantee you will get at least as good a deal as a new customer when it comes time to upgrade.

Ignorance is bliss eh Tech?

They WILL know, infact, going by the sounds of what Dr Who has said, there will be numerous notes on the account, and all a Phone Trainer will be able to do is put you onto the phone to CS, we're not a one-stop replacement shop I'm afraid.

So the N70 was a disaster. Sent it back after a week. Total piece of toilet. Got a replacement C500 issued eventually - but not before a CS drone told me, we can't replace it before we can diagnose the problem, it's not meant to be behaving like that, Sir! Really? I hadn't guessed. I also don't being used as a diagnostic service and being left with a shagg*d phone. During the process of getting the new C500 the missus borrowed mine and it crashed constantly. Beginning to think the problem may have been on her SIM. Got the new C500, which was OK for a week and then it started to crash again. Fairly sure it MUST be the SIM. One day she got fed up and 'upgraded' to a C550. Got until Friday to return it. Seems to have a broken joystick already but at least she is on a new SIM at the mo.

If you send the c550 back the new sim has to go with it :-(

Hope you kept the old one.

Think (hope) it is still in the old phone. Can you get the Big O to issue a new SIM? I guess it was new when I got my C500's over 18 months ago. Could take an eraser to the gold contacts maybe, but would rather have a new one. Might just parcel up the C500 and try a C600. I have to say that this trying other phones is great - they return the upgrade fee if there is one so if you were good about it you could have a different phone every week. For a couple of months anyway.

Yeah but I think they charge you £15 for the pleasure. Just tell them it says 'sim card error' or summat. Don't say you've lost it. You might get a freebie.

I know the feeling worms, I used to spend around £350-£400 a month with orange (work calls mainly) and probably more than some business customers but they would not let me have the m500 as it's "Only for Business Customers". Speak with the supervisor, explained that the art of good customer service i treating each case on it's own merit. Nope. So I dropped my tariff to the lowest, upgraded with retail for free because I was still classed as a heavy user and then stopped using my orange phone other than for the free minutes. When it's due up i'm leaving, fed up with the poor excuses.

blast from the past... sorry to bring it up

really - do you think I care about orange or anyone really? keep notes on the system? dont make me laugh - everytime I said to them to keep me updated on a status of a repair or a new phone coming out - "yeh we will phone you" - they NEVER did!!!!!

great CS I tell ya - really, fantastic. why do you think ALOT of people have left orange in the past year? WHY? POOR CS thats why.

let me also add - if you work for orange and say that your opinions etc... are not from orange but your own - then why are you posting the "new" "undercover" "secret" plans here? explain!

are you not concerned that perhaps you would get the sack? (in all seriousness I hope you dont or anyone for that matter) - to me it seems as if you like to just post regularly then post some new orange deal/service and go away for a few days/weeks then come back again
