Guest MrBing Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 I purchased a new device yesterday (Eten M600). I am very happy with it so far and I can connect to my local WLAN at home. However, I cannot access the Internet via the WLAN connection. As per the User guide - one need to create a new connection prior to getting access to the Internet. However, when making a new connection for Internet (under my ISP), I cannot add "WLAN" when selecting a modem. Which modifications do I need to make in order to be able to connect to the Internet via a WLAN connection (WLAN Router connects directly to the Internet)? Thanks in advance
Guest fraser Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Check in: start menu / settings / connections (tab) / Connections (icon) In this app, hit the "Advanced" tab, then "Select networks". In the edit for each one, there is a "this connects to the net" option. That's maybe what you are after. The two drop down lists are essentially two profiles. you can have a regular one and a "work" one, if you need to mess with VPNs and the like. Most folk only use one, however be aware that diffent apps might try to use the "work" one and will need telling not to. Only happens to a couple of in-built apps, such as email and activesync.
