Guest Honest John Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 I have been playing around with creating variations on some of the XML screens posted on the Forum. This has been a tedious affair because of the method I have used, coupled with my own incompetence. I have used the following technique, (if you can call it a technique) 1. Copy the XML to PC 2. Edit the XML 3. Copy the XML to the SPV 4 Change the Home screen on the SPV to, say, Orange Layout 1 5. "Done" 6. Change it back to the updated XML screen 7. See the error in the layout. 8. Go back to 1. Is there a PC based emulator that reads the XML and shows it as it would appear on the SPV so that I could develop the XML on the PC and get it right without all this mucking about? Above all, being from North of the Border, is it FREE?
Guest Shuflie Posted January 22, 2003 Report Posted January 22, 2003 Yes, its supplied by microsoft as part of the SDK. Get it from http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/developer/...ads/default.asp You need the smartphone SDK and the embeded visual tools.
Guest Honest John Posted January 23, 2003 Report Posted January 23, 2003 Unfortunately, the SDK requires Windows 2000 and I am on Windows 98. Any other ideas, folks? Thanks.
