application locked?

does the message:

"the file: ...... is not a valid windows CE setup file"

mean that my new m500 is application locked, or that i just have the wrong software?

I tried to application unlock it but even the 'Action register.arm.cab' results in the same message.

i'm looking to install an image editor, anyone know any good ones (freeware?)

That usually means one of 3 things :

1. That you are trying to install Smartphone software onto a PPC (eg. M500) or vice versa

2. That you are trying to run a PC installer (.exe) on the device itself

3. That you have mistaken a simple application file (.exe) for a PC installer.

Hopefully that makes sense - my guess is the first ! :)

found some software on pocketgear.com that does work.

now on the hunt for a decent image editor.
