Guest ChrisJM Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Vodafone have released their version of the HTC Wizard (MDA Vario, KJam and alike) as the VPA Compact II. The specs are very similar to the Vario and KJam but it has a different appearence. It also has a different keyboard to the other varients. It is priced at 799 Euros for the handset alone (with no contract). It can be found on the Vodafone Germany website here. Specification - weight: 160 g - size: 109 x 23,7 x 58 mm - battery: 1150 mAh (Li-Ion) - stand-by time: 200 hours - talk time: 5 hours - PDA mode: up to 10 hours - GSM quad band : 850/900/1800/1900 MHz - camera with resolution: 1.280 x 1.024 - photo light - memory card: mini SD - Wi-Fi : IEEE 802.11b ) - QWERTZ keyboard (note German QWERTZ not English QWERTY)
Guest bennish Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 i remember reading there were 3 variations of the wizard... looks like we're starting to finally see some of the others. Interesting... nicer in a way, for people who aren't crash hot on the organic shapes.
Guest ChrisJM Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 there is also the XDA Mini XDA Mini S Which is the same so there are currently 4 varients i believe.
Guest Peppermint Hippo Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 Thats quite ugly! Unlikely to ever see the light of day in the Uk if Vodafone stick to form. Wasn't that more squared design, the original design of the Wizard? What are these 4 variants of the Wizard then? I can think of two.....
Guest ChrisJM Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 MDA Vario, KJam, XDA Mini S and the VPA Compact II.

Thought you meant 4 different 'shapes' of Wizards (ie the square one like the Voda Compact II and the rounded ones like the Vario, Mini S etc..) Surely you can add the Qtek to your list as i'm sure they have released their Wizard variant

HTC Wizard 110: Dopod 838 Cingular 8125 VPA Compact II HTC Wizard 100: (Same as 110, but without camera) Cingular 8100 HTC Wizard 200: i-mate K-JAM Q-Tek 9100 Orange M3000 T-Mobile MDA Vario O2 XDA Mini S The Sprint PPC6700 is not a wizard, however an htc apache. There are two varients of that to my knowledge, the PPC6700 released under sprint and a canadian company, and the VX6700 being released for verizon.
