Hi,

A while ago someone posted the policy that O use for a DMR (direct model replacement) - Does anyone know what that policy is? - I've done a search, but cant find anything.

I have an M5000 which is just TOTAL CRAP and cannot use it as a phone because of the 'dropping' call issue. Interestingly enough, O have admitted there are problems with the 3G signal, however, by making the handset 2G should resolve any issues. This is not the case, as mine still drops calls.

So I need to know what to say to Orange to make them give me a C600 or similar.

Thanks in advance

Orange different model replacement is there for customers who have had two phones replaced for a fault and the third model is showing the same symptoms. Now these need to be the identical fault in all there handsets or a DMR will not be authorised. Also you will not be simple offered a DMR you will have to ask for it or they will continue to send M5000’s.

The DMR on a M5000 though is likely to be more something like a M1500, M500 and P910i. They try and offer handsets that are most similar to the current handset; you cannot simply sit down with the catalogue and say “I’ll have that one”

So basically you will need to get this handset replaced by Orange care and have the same fault on two more handsets before you will be considered for this.
