Audiovox SMT5600 Battery weird PROBLEM!

Hi there,

I have a SMT5600 smartphone and yesterday I was using it during the morning with no problems. At midday something happened and when I checked it was turned off :) .

I believed that it was a battery problem, like "rapid-discharge" since I was having some troubles years ago with a Pocket PC. The machine at that time looked like dead but after a charge the battery took all the energy again.

But this is not the case with my SMT5600. I charged it (or tried) and I got only a SOLID RED in the led indicator. I checked in the manual and it says that a flashing red means battery very low with less that 4% but this is when is on.

Once attached to the charger it keep the same SOLID RED in the led indicator but it doesn't change then to other color. Even when I removed the battery and plug the cellphone with the charger it has the same SOLID RED :??: .

What could have happened to my cell or battery? Somebody has suffered with the same problem before? :x .

I don't know if it is a battery problem or a cell problem? How to tell?
