Guest EllyReid Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 :??: Hi This is my first post as well as my first PDA! I bought a 2nd hand Orange SPV M2000 which is unlocked. I have tried my 02 PAYG sim card and an Orange PAYG sim card and both work OK as a phone. However with both sim cards I cannot 1. connect to internet 2. send or receive email 3. make the M2000 work as a wireless modem when connected to my Laptop. (not via infra red or USB) The Orange user manual came with this machine however, either I am totally stupid or it is oversimplified as I cannot get the above to work using the instructions in it. Basically I want to be able to connect to my ISP (Dial Up) using the M2000 on it's own AND via USB and or IR when connected to my laptop. Otherwise I have just bought a very expensive phone!! I am sure all of you bright young things out there will be able to help this rapidly declining grandmother sort this out, and I thank you all in anticipation of your replies. The m2000 was supplied as a contract phone and as such has the orange contract settings as default. I don't know what they are for orange PAYG but I'll have a quick look around the site :-) As for o2 settings, there are many different combinations and it depends where / how you got your sim card - online, genie etc etc. edit - have a look here : http://www.modaco.com/Phone_Settings_Repository-t4861.html Orange GPRS APN=payginternet Orange WAP APN=paygwap Richard Edited December 20, 2005 by fluffcat1
