Guest Baldyman Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 Hi all, Recieved my new Qtek 8310 a couple of days ago and am very impressed so far. WiFi is a dream and all other aspects are excellent, highly recommended. However, I have a problem with GPRS, in that I cannot get a connection. I'm using BT Mobile (MVNO on Vodafone). Using a Treo 650 or Motorola V3 I can connect, on the 8310 'Connection Error. Cannot connect. Verify you have network coverage and try again' Now I'm pretty sure my GPRS settings are correct and that I have coverage. Either the phone is faulty (I would be very surprised considering all other elements work, WiFi, GSM, Bluetooth etc) or there is some setting I have missed. I configured as follows: Settings-->Connections-->GPRS Menu-->Add Connects to: The Internet AccessPoint: btmobile.bt.com User Name: bt Password: bt Primary DNS: left blank defaults to 0.0.0.0. (I presume leaving blank allows automatic setting) Secondary DNS: IP Address: 212.183.137.12 Under Settings-->More-->GPRS Authentication I left as default PAP authentication In IE Tools-->Options-->Connections is set to Internet I then try to connect in IE and in ActiveSync and get the connection error. Both work flawlessly on WiFi. Before I try return the phone as not working just wanted to check with you if there is anything I have missed as I am new to WM smartphones but have owned a number of PPC's and the Treo 650. Also if anyone has the settings for PAYG Orange I will try that as I have a spare Orange SIM. Any advice will be appreciated. Regards

I was specifying an IP address. Removed this and all OK.
