Guest Nerve Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 I have had my Vario since the beginning of December and over the last few days the headphone connection has been getting worse and worse until today I could only get a reasonable quality stereo output by holding the (adapter) jack on the headphones in the socket and bending it upwards towards the front of the device. Any other way and the sound is mono, tinny and full of noise. I'm going to have to take it back to a T-Mobile store which is more inconvenient now seeing as I'm a couple of hundred miles away from the actual store I got it from until after the new year. I'll take into the local one and see what they say, but I can't see how it's going to be anything less than a repair or replacement. Grr. It wouldn't be *that* big a problem except that I use my Vario extensively as an mp3 player. :) Any other people experienced this? Just to note I have tried two 2-5->3.5mm adapters and the stock headphones to check the problem is with the unit and not elsewhere.
Guest TheNerd Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 Any other people experienced this?I am suffering this now! I tried an old pair of headphones from another phone => same poor quality sound, so I can rule out a fault with the headphones. Nerve, did you get a fix for this or did you have to get the repair done by your provider? Can anybody help please?

By the sounds of both of these it is a hardware problem, so i don't think there's much else to say, if you only got the phone at beginning of December you could try the 30 day thing, say it's completely unacceptable and see what they say, you never no
Guest hicks Posted January 20, 2007 Report Posted January 20, 2007 Guys, for what it's worth I had the exact same problem with my vario. I called t-mob, told them the socket was broken and also that the stylus kept falling out (but then, it would be :)). I returned it to them on Thursday and received by return of post this morning a brand new vario! I am pleased by this as the phone is about 11 months old. Give them a buzz and see what they say. They certainly sorted me out quickly.
Guest freelunch Posted February 27, 2007 Report Posted February 27, 2007 I think your headphone adaptor or headphone itself is broken. I've had the problem several times and it goes away with a new set of headphone adaptors.
