Guest bronksy Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 Just had a replacement.. M5000 .. Clearly it's still dropping calls and apparently according to OCS, although it's showing full 3g coverage the transmitters are down and not connecting. .Anyways.. PLEASE CALL OCS AND MOAN ABOUT THE M5000 they say no one has reported any issues with this handset. I find this a complete lie.. please spend 5 mins and phone them.. all of you ... and report it's dropping calls etc...apparently there is nothing ont the internal handset fault notice board... they are blaming the sim card, the network being down etc... just call them.. let's bombard them and see what happens....
Guest philtech44 Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 has anyone phoned yet? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I emailed the executive office with a list of ten key issues were all experiencing with the M5000 last week & have missed a call from a M. Ramage of the Exec Office whom I will, be talking to in great depth tomorrow.. will post conv here then ;-)
Guest bronksy Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 can you post the issues here and I will send the email too.. or call them
Guest Dogmatick Posted December 23, 2005 Report Posted December 23, 2005 (edited) can you post the issues here and I will send the email too.. or call them <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I have just about had it with Orange, got a call yesterday, and whilst they still suggest that I am the only one with the issues (yes I had already pointed them here and they rubbished the site) they actually had the nerve to tell me to 'read the manual' . Even though my call was regarding droppedcalls, they asked all the usual questions about memory over the last three weeks, came back with a message that memory was satisfactory and that the user should read the manual and familiarise himself with the requirements of the memory. What this had to do with anything at all I have no idea. Chief Exec details Mike Hughes Correspondence Department Orange Comms PO Box 10 Patchway Bristol BS32 4BQ I reckon we all print out pages from this site as proof that there are others with an issue and write stinkers to them regarding their Tech Support Ivory tower monkeys. As an aside, a friend in the US pointed this little gem out to me WOW my Pocket PC is fast! I just bumped into an old registry tweak that I have yet to use o_n Windows Mobile 2003. A foreign site todopocketpc had mentioned this and I was surprised I had not used it o_n my new install. o_nce I applied this reg tweak I immediately saw a difference in how fast my Windows Mobile Pocket PC responded. Today plugins load faster my Games folder loads faster. Its just an overall better experience. I would highly suggest backing up your Pocket PC before you try this as playing with your registry can cause problems if you do not know what you are doing. Protect your Pocket PC BACKUP! If you need a registry editor, you can find a free o_ne at http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/regeditce.shtml 1. Open your registry editor o_n your Pocket PC 2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GDI\GLYPHCACHE\ 3. Change the value of 'limit' from 8192 to 32768 4. Close registry editor and soft reset. Guest bronksy Posted December 23, 2005 Report Posted December 23, 2005 ok so can we compile a list of the faults and if we all email it then surely we may get somewhere? People power.. come on folks let's give them hell.. they DARE rubbish this site... let us unleash the wrath of Betatesters for their poor products...
Guest JonathanVerrier Posted December 28, 2005 Report Posted December 28, 2005 Not quite sure there are great problems with calls, internet connections. What problems have you had? Biggest issue is the camera needs lots of memory on 2MB picture size, and will only really work after stopping all other active programs. And Email settings get lost, but their remains litter the menus. Regards Jonathan Just had a replacement.. M5000 .. Guest bronksy Posted December 28, 2005 Report Posted December 28, 2005 all sorts.. it seems you can't just answer the call by pressing the green external button.. i have to open the case, close the case then press the button, or open the case then press answer, but have to wait for the screen to switch on first.. should i be able to answer the call by pressing the green external 'spine' button? Loads of other nonsense about 3g and dropping calls all the time..
Guest nowimboard Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 Hay Gentlemen, I called ornage last night and told them of the issue with the call dropping and never being able to answer a call when im changin the screen oriantation. Guy I spoke to said that its the first time he has heard of this and wants me to hard reset my phone. Doing it tonight just to make them happy, but we alll know it wont work. However the problem is reported and had a little chat with him about other teething problems. Also I mentioned that 02 are already on the case and asked how long it would take for orange to catch up. Then had a pleasant chat about the extra software orange puts on and somehow got onto India and call centres. Did you know that they orange care line is open 24/7. Who the heck calls orange at 3am in the morning?!
Guest hotphil Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 I used to - to complain about Orange 3G dropping/not making or receiving calls. 3am seemed to be the only time I could get through. It's especially satisfying as you get to have a good rant to a numpty who can't transfer you to someone who actually knows anything as the tech guys work 9-5!! I don't think your problem is specifically with the handset. I returned the 3G ones that Orange gave me as even in a big city like Sheffield, the service was unacceptable. And that's the network service, don't even get started on their appalling customer 'service'.
