Guest JPo_23 Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 The text message alert on my MDA vario keeps reverting to the default t-mobile sound. I keep changing it to my own wav file, this works for a while, and then it goes back to the default setting. It may be doing this only when I soft reset the phone, but I'm not 100% sure about this. This is driving me nuts, so any solution would be much appreciated.
Guest chucky.egg Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 Do you have PocketPC Profiles Pro? That did the same to me, and for ages I was scratching my head. If you do have it then you need to change the notifications in PPC Profiles Pro as they override the default settings

The ring tone also kept reverting to the standard windows one 8/10 times. Then they both just gave up and all i ever got was the standard "beep". I posted a similar thread a week or two ago....sadly no-one replied  I gave up.....i just did the MDA compact upgrade from T-mobiles site and killed two birds with one stone! All the best buddy, Merry Christmas :)

I uninstalled it and it made no difference, it still wouldn't work right. I'm guessing my registry was fubared somewhere!
Guest JPo_23 Posted December 22, 2005 Report Posted December 22, 2005 It was PPCProfiles, didn't set my notifications in there properly. Silly me.
Guest popcop Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 where exactly do i put my .wav file to use as a new text message alert
