Button reassignments

Does anyone know how I can assign the bottom left soft key (calendar by default) to open the start menu on the vario? Ideally this would also involve the start menu moving to the bottom of the screen.

This button doesn't seem to be configurable in Settings/Buttons.

if there's not an option in your settings area to control this, you have two options : edit the registry or use a 3rd party app.

i'm using vito button mapper at the moment to change hotkey assignments as well as other button mappings. i would download the trial to make sure you're happy with it first.

if you want to edit your registry, i'd have a look over at howardforums.com.

buttonmapper won't do anything to the soft keys, that's what he's asking about.

i wanted this too, like a smartphone. what i did is got tillanosoft smallmenu, it's free. and then i set the softkey to point to it (softkey can ONLY point to applications). it works pretty well.

buttonmapper DOES allow you to change the softkeys.

from the vito website - "Supports softkeys for WM 5.0 ".

it also allows you to map to functions. i haven't had a chance to play around with the macro function as yet.

Left Soft Key

"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112"

"Default" entry contains what the key displays in the bar.

"Open" entry contains what the keys starts when the button is tapped, usually .exe files.

Right Soft Key

"HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113"

"Default" entry contains what the key displays in the bar.

"Open" entry contains what the keys starts when the button is tapped, usually .exe files.

The values are all string, if the keys do not exist in your device you must add them.

After all changes switch the device off woth the on/off button, if the keys don;t work right away make a call and try again.
