Guest taxman Posted December 24, 2005 Report Posted December 24, 2005 I have searched for these, but if i've missed anything feel free to point me to the relevant topic. Has T9 text input been fixed with the C550/600, i.e. can you re-select words to edit them? Looking in an Orange brochure, the C550 and C600 seem to have SAR ratings three times that of the C500. Is this correct? A fried brain seems a high price to pay for a better camera (yes, i do know it does more than that).

The way Nokia choose to handle t9 is a matter for nokia, and I admit, being able to go back and have it re-select the whole word, is handy - but its also a bug-bear if you are trying to make none standard words - at least on a SmartPhone you can type the amount of word it will recognise as proper, then press left, and finish the rest off letter by letter. OR, type a proper word very similar to the weird word you want, then go back and edit a letter or two - as SmartPhones don't highlight the WHOLE WORD when you go back - this can be handy therefore. But as it is completely NOT a 'fault', then it cannot be fixed - it is simply the way MS elect to handle t9 - a design choice - NOT a fault mate.
Guest taxman Posted December 24, 2005 Report Posted December 24, 2005 Fair enough shadamehr, but i've added a poll to see what the user base might prefer. Intended or not, i would prefer to be able to edit whole words.
Guest Peppermint Hippo Posted December 25, 2005 Report Posted December 25, 2005 Slightly deviating from question, but i find the texting input on the C600 very poor. It can't keep up and often misses letters out. I'm a big texter and currenly use a K750i which has sent over 4000 texts in 4 months and wish the C600 was as fast as that.

Try "T9 options" while composing a text and see if it is in there.
