Guest diveboy2 Posted December 24, 2005 Report Posted December 24, 2005 (edited) Hi all, I am trying to send SMS messages from my New C600. I have installed an outlook plug in called mosa_usEN.exe that I got from www.microsoft.com. I installed the USB modem driver and enabled the modem in the phones prefs. I installed the SMS plug in and selected the HTC modem to use for sending texts. The only probelm is once I have added in my contacts and written the message when I try and send I get this error "The modem does not suport messages in PDU format". Any Ideas? Edited December 28, 2005 by diveboy2
Guest diveboy2 Posted December 28, 2005 Report Posted December 28, 2005 After no replies I almost thought it couldn't be done. BUT I found a little app called Jeyo Mobile Extender. http://www.jeyo.com/extender.asp Its a fantastic little app that lets you do all this: Unify All Your Messaging Needs Jeyo Mobile Extender adds mobile text messaging functionality to your Outlook application. With this plug-in, you can use your Outlook to send, receive and manage your text messages in the same way that you do with your email today. Your mobile phone simply becomes a message "server" to Outlook. Create Text Messages With Ease You can compose new text messages in Outlook at any time. Messages created when offline (i.e., when your mobile phone is not connected) will be sent automatically as soon as it is reconnected. Using your PC also makes text input easy. If you end up writing too long of a message, no problem - it will be handled properly. In addition, you have numerous options when replying and forwarding. For example, you can select text messages from multiple senders and reply to them at once. This is very handy when you are having a group dialogue. As another example, you can forward a text message to an email user or an email to a mobile phone user. Mix Languages When using with Outlook 2003, Jeyo Mobile Extender fully supports Unicode text. You can create or view text messages in any language, regardless of whether your mobile phone has that language. For example, you can send someone a text message and receive an reply in Chinese even though your phone only supports English. These Chinese messages will be displayed correctly in Outlook. Furthermore, you can use more than one language in a text message. Organize You can manage text messages both in your Outlook application and on your mobile phone. In Outlook, you can copy or move messages between folders, delete messages, create new backup folders, and so on. You can also view remotely messages on your phone, copy messages between it and Outlook, or empty its message folders. Back Up To PC Text messages downloaded to the Outlook application are stored in an Outlook data file on your PC. These messages are "saved" automatically until you decide to delete them from the Outlook SMS folder. Hope this of use to someone

(if you don't see them right away after syncing press the "send/receive sms" button in the Jeyo menu bar in Outlook). From there you can save every message as you please, in HTML or plain text, just as you can with email messages by selecting the message and choosing "file - save as" from the Outlook pulldown menu :D Also have a look at the options in Jeyo, you can decide whether the copies of the sms messages remain on the phone or get deleted and you can manage all the messages directly on the phone. Note : of you choose to delete the messages from the phone after they have been transferred to Outlook they are put in the phone's "deleted items" folder.. remember to empty that once in a while :D
