Guest petermatheson1 Posted December 25, 2005 Report Posted December 25, 2005 Merry xmas! I'm still up playing with my new toy! hehe Since getting my company XDA Exec and a new bluetooth headset which is significantly better than my cheapy headset which I use with my C500. I was wondering if it's possible to use the o2 headset for both phones? I tried pairing them, and each time I paired with one phone, it stops working on the previous phone (i'm trying them one at a time, rather than both phones bluetooth switched on)
Guest petermatheson1 Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 bump! Any ideas anyone? Also i'd like to use one tom tom unit for 2 phones. I have a C500 for my personal phone with TT Mobile, and an Xda Exec for my company phone which i've just bought the software only Navigator 5 & Maps for. Can I use the BLuetooth GPS unit I got from TT Mobile, for the navigator as well? (Again, not at the same time!)
Guest Pondrew Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 Hi. Unfortunately I believe the design of Bluetooth headsets is such that only 1 device can be paired with it at any time and therefore you'll need to repair each time you change from the XDA Exec to the C500. As for the Bluetooth GPS receiver, I see no reason why your TomTom Navigator software you bought for the XDA Exec shouldn't be able to use it same as the C500 TomTom Mobile software does...
Guest adjonline Posted January 1, 2006 Report Posted January 1, 2006 It actually is possible with certain Bluetooth headsets. I have a Plantronics Voyager 510 which is successfully paired with an M2000 and an E200. Plantronics deem this feature "multipoint" technology, though I don't believe that to be a generic term. A
Guest Jasonkruys Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Yes, that is correct, it depends entirely on the headset itself. I have a motorola headset that can store pairing data for 8 handsets, another for only 1.

I have a motorola headset that can store pairing data for 8 handsets, another for only 1. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've got an o2 Blue headset, which according to their online site, can support 2: " Pairing (in headset or handsfree profile), multi pairing (at least 2) " I pair with my C500. Then Turn bluetooth off on C500. Then pair with Xda Exec. Turn bluetooth off on Xda Exec. Then try again on C500 & it doesn't work. Any ideas?? Also, same goes for TomTom... Should I be able to pair it with 2 phones?
Guest richard_hogg Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Probably not for tomtom.. My GPS unit doesn't anyway.
Guest Matt Kirby Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 I've just got one of the Carphone Warehouse's own brand headsets (less than £20!) and that one will also pair with two devices - it sometimes takes a while for it to re-attach to each device but I don't have to re-pair each time.
Guest Confucious Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Probably not for tomtom.. My GPS unit doesn't anyway. This is the first time I've heard of a BT GPS device not being able to pair with more than one phone - What is it? My CoPilot one certainly can and I'm sure my other one can as well (someone else has it at the moment so I can't check), but I thought ALL GPS receivers could be paired with multiple devices.
Guest Morninglight Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 This is the first time I've heard of a BT GPS device not being able to pair with more than one phone - What is it? My TomTom BT GPS doesn't pair to 2 devices either, it's the first all silver BT GPS tomtom sold. I've got problems with my Mr. Butterfly BT headset, it pairs ok with the M3000. But when turned off and on again it doesn't repair the connection. On my workphone (nokia 6310i) I just tap on the button on the headset and the BT connection is restored just like on my previous c500... :?:
