Help playing music files on SPV C500

Hello,

Hoping someone can help me.

I have Pocketmusic on my SPV C500 which i love for playing music. I downloaded some live music sets from the Internet that are 2 hours long which if i could play on Pocketmusic it would be great cause i could make a bookmark if i need to stop playing it for any reason.

The problem is that the live sets are Windows Media Audio files which you cannot play on Pocketmusic.

Can anyone recommend either:

1) a way to convert the WMA files to MP3 (i currently use CDex to convert CD's to MP3 but i dont think it converts WMA files - unless i can't see the option to do it!)

2) a music program that is good that plays WMA files that you can set bookmarks

Thanks for any help in advance.

1) I couldnt reccommend any myself but try searching google to a wma to mp3 converter.

2) Dont take my word on this but I think only WMP plays WMAs (windows media audio) Not sure mind so youll have to look into it

EDIT: Oh, appears TCPMP plays WMAs (I shoulda known, it plays pretty much everything!)

Hello,

I know that TCPMP plays WMA's but can't find any sort of bookmark feature. If i start playing a 2 hour file then need to stop/turn off phone/whatever then have to fast forward until i get back to the right place.

Wanted an easier way if possible.

Will look for a converter on google instead.

Thanks,

Sam

why dont you just play WMA in WMP? ;)

there really isnt a way to convert WMA to MP3 due to copyright reasons - that was the whole point as well for WMA - to prevent people converting WMA to another format

goggle a search m

NCH + Switch

and use TCPMP to move back and forth,so sorry cant bookmark yet

This is what I do for a 2 hour music video

For converting from WMA to MP3, I also wasn't able to find anything that directly converts MP3.

So, the next best thing I found I could do is convert the WMA to WAV using JetAudio and then use any WAV to MP3 converter. I'm sure there are softwares available for converting WMA to WAV.

One other procedure, for converting WMA to MP3 ... burn the tracks on Rewriteable CD as Audio Tracks & then rip the audio tracks as MP3. But thats just too much for some of us. ;)

I use tcpmp for 2hr sets all the time and find it more than good enough.

if you close tcpmp when a file is playing then reboot the phone or whatever, when you start tcpmp from its shortcut it puts you on the same position as you were before

have a look at the Player page on options and you can adjust the fastforward speed to make it more suitable for longer files.
