I know the 200 hasn't bluetooth, but with dongles @ about a fiver each, couldn't I just hang one off the phone when I need it. ?

Hi,

The dongle I'm talking about plugs into the USB port of a laptop, and, with software turns the laptop into a bluetooth communicator.

Looking at it, I'd need two cables, one mini USB to USB and one Female to Female USB to plug the dongle into, then some bluetooth software to run on the phone.

Can anyone tell me if I'm talking a load of old coblers, and it's impossible !.

i highly doubt that is possable. due to the fact that there is no software that will run on the smartphones and allow u to use a usb dongle. good thought tho.

instead of using 2 diff cables, u could just take those same 2 cables and splice them together. or if u have any spare external usbports for ur computer laying about, u could splice that with a mini usb plug.

Yep, making a cable's not a problem, only 4 connects and screen, but will any dongle s/ware run under 2003 or another brand of phones bluetooth s/ware. ?

There are stand alone serial dongles avalaible, for the likes of printers etc. Could one of these be modified at all. Mind you, they cost as much as a new phone, so I doubt it's worth it.

USB dongles yes, but they require software installed on your PC, and there's no equivalent software available for Smartphone.

The serial adaptors I'm refering to are stand alone but have a serial plug, and are used often with printers, or with all sorts of industrial machinery. Expansys has them and they're not just a fiver.

One thing though, am I right in thinking the Mx200 has a full SDIO slot? Isn't that the one that the camera can plug into? and then of course does anyone make a bluetooth SDIO card with the right drivers?

If I'm wrong on those dongles though and they are fully independant and need no software installed anywhere, then if I send you a fiver can you go buy me one?

its not really pimped as an SDIO slot. its just an SD slot that has one IO available.
