Hi

I recently got a SPV M1000 but whilst downloading software the machine developed the following problem

- The screen constantly displays 'USB' at the top of the screen and 'V1.06' at the bottom - it displays this whilst in the cradle

- The screen changes the USB to 'Serial' when removed from the cradle

- My PC does not acknowledge the device is connected so no active sync can take place - even though there is beep every time the device is put in the cradle and removed

- A soft or hard re-set has NO affect on the machine

- The screen does not change what ever is done - a re-set causes it to flicker but goes back to USB and V1.06

- The machine worked great for 3 weeks but was bought second hand

PLEASE HELP AS I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX IT

ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

Thanks

Sam

interesting

have you firstly - tried to reflash the ROM or get an updated ROM from orange?

what do you mean by downloading software? what type of software? from where? ;)

What were you doing when this happened apart from downloading software? :D

looks like the phone is stuck in bootloader mode! reflashing the ROM (ROM update) should sort it

It's in tri-colour boot loader mode. Make sure there are no buttons stuck in. If taking the battery out and re-inserting it doesn't work, connect it to the cradle and run the m1000 update from orange's website - this will re-install the operating system and should correct whatever was causing it to stick in boot loader mode.
