iMate SP5m versus Qtek 8300

Put simply, is there a difference between the Qtek 8300 and the iMate SP5M? :??:

Which one should I go for? Does any of them have better support/backup?

At Expansys, the iMate is currently out of stock and the Qtek is in stock. I can get the iMate immediately elsewhere but pay more.

They are both identical besides the name on the outside. From what I hear QTEK support is really sh**e but Imates isn’t much better either. Imate do release more rom updates sooner and faster than QTEK though, in fact, I don’t think that you can use QTEK updates over here. Anybody correct me if I’m wrong.

I have an Imate SP5 and its great, didn’t like the media buttons on the sp5m and the black version looks better anyway. Each to his own though.

My advice, go for the Imate, might take a little longer to come but atleast you’ll have access to nice little updates in the future.

Since I posted, I too have moved towards the SP5/8310, i.e. without the media buttons and in black.

Thanks for the recommendation...I reckon an iMate SP5 could be getting ordered very soon. :D :D
